Lukas Van Loggerenberg is one of SA’s most exciting new winemakers. He was named 2018 Young Winemaker of the Year by Tim Atkin. His wines are only available only in small quantities, with the previous vintages having sold out in a flash.

Tasting notes:
'Now firmly entrenched as one of the most serious versions of the variety. This vintage exclusively from Stellenbosch grapes, winemaking involved 100% whole-bunch fermentation. A very fragrant nose of fynbos, cherries and plums while the palate has great fruit purity, fresh acidity and crunchy tannins. Possessing impressive clarity, this is compelling stuff.' – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 94/100.

Winemakers notes:
The name 'Geronimo' is a reference to the ‘leap of faith’ winemaker Lukas and wife Roxanne Van Loggerenberg took when deciding to create their own brand. We feel this is a slightly more structured Cinsaut than many available at the moment. This is not to say it is heavy or over-oaked; it has layers of textures and flavours with beautiful balance. No yeast, enzymes, acid or new oak was used. Some SO2 and a light filtration were the only adjustments. Lukas’ wines rely on the quality of the fruit/vineyard and his ability in the cellar. From two vineyards, one in Faure and the other in Polkadraai. The soils are decomposed granite and koffieklip. Unirrigated. Bush Vine. 80% whole bunch fermented.
